We visited Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands in late February through early March for a week of relaxation, beautiful beaches, stunning ocean views, and snorkeling exploration (which was amazing!). The quieter Turtle Cove area was our choice for our stay since that has the amazing Smith’s Reef nearby for snorkeling.
We needed to visit Grace Bay Beach and read about some of the luxurious resorts near Grace Bay. We came across the fact that many of the resorts offer temporary access day passes. We decided to get one for Seven Stars Turks and Caicos (view on Hotels.com, Expedia, Agoda) and loved it! Here’s some info about how we chose this, other options, and why you might want to consider it!
Day passes – Access to Turks and Caicos all-inclusive resorts
Sitting out on our gorgeous balcony, we were doing some research for other activities for us after we planned our snorkeling adventures. We came across the fact that several resorts offer day passes where you can pay to temporarily access many of their amenities without booking a room. This seemed like a great way to spend our last day on the island for maximum relaxation with an entire day on Grace Bay Beach.
The website visittci.com has a great list of resorts offering day passes. If you are planning a trip to Turks and Caicos, you absolutely need to check out their entire site. It’s a gold mine of information, very well-organized, and beautiful to look at! Kudos to them. At the time we looked, some of the resorts offering day passes included Beaches Turks and Caicos, Club Med Turkoise, and Seven Stars Turks and Caicos (view on Hotels.com, Expedia, Agoda).
What do day passes offer?
Being unfamiliar with the concept, we had no idea what to expect. Reading through the link above we saw that the passes often include things like pool access, usage of kayaks/small sailboats, tennis courts, fitness rooms, beach furniture, towel service, and sometimes food & drink.
Going through the options, we knew we wouldn’t be drinking enough to make the included drinks and food worth the cost and really wanted to focus on beach time. We also knew that we wouldn’t use the big attractions provided at Beaches. So we settled on Seven Stars for the price and good fit of provided amenities.
The Seven Stars Turks and Caicos day pass
To get a day pass, you simply arrive at the front desk, request one, and pay. Seven Stars Resort has a gorgeous entryway and reception area! The receptionist who helped us was beyond friendly while getting things set up for us.
After paying, we were given wristbands so we could access the resort. She then gave us a tour of most of the areas at the resort included with the pass: tennis courts, fitness areas, the beachside pool, towel service area, and finally the beachfront space on Grace Bay Beach! She introduced us to the towel service team and they got to work setting up lounges for us with a stunning view of the beach!
The lounges at Seven Stars are very comfortable and the resort uses plush towel coverings designed to stay put that add prime comfort. I was a little hesitant about getting the pass at first. However, after settling in on the lounge, under our umbrellas, with our books at the ready on our table, I was sold!
How we spent our day at Seven Stars
We luxuriated for a while soaking in the sights and sounds and having a periodic swim to cool off. Being in the water surrounded by the turquoise beauty never got old.
Food and drink service started around 11:00 AM. The server taking care of our area was extremely friendly and did a great job meeting everyone’s needs.
My friend had a couple of great piña coladas doused in dark rum Turks and Caicos style. We also ordered a few snacks. The yucca fries were incredible! I love yucca fries and know they’re sometimes dense and sad. These are crisp and amazing. We also had delicious tuna tartare. What a treat to enjoy such treats right at this beautiful beach!
Seven Stars is close to the main downtown area so we walked into town for lunch and to explore a bit. Afterward, we came back to our stunning spot for more swimming, reading, and luxuriating.
Honestly, it was a fantastic day! The staff was wonderful, the resort was lovely, the beach was stunning, and the other patrons were generally quiet adults who supported our relaxation vibes.
We didn’t wind up using the pool as the ocean was too inviting, but it looked like a great option. There were also some kayaks and Hobie Cat sailboats available for water sports fans!
Tips to have your best day at Seven Stars
- Get there early to secure your pass. From what we could tell, a limited number are available per day.
- Plan out the amenities you’d like to leverage to maximize your time there. We wanted to focus on relaxing so we didn’t go wild using everything but felt like we got our money’s worth.
- Wear clothing and/or sunscreen for sun protection even when using umbrellas. The sun is intense. One of us got a rockin’ sunburn by not heeding that advice!
- Bring a refillable water bottle to use at the Seven Stars drinking water stations that are just off the beach.
- Bring a tote bag to put your belongings in while you go for a swim or walk.
- Towels are included so you can leave yours at home and avoid the bulk.
- Try the yucca fries and tuna tartare! Don’t forget a piña colada if you’re so inclined!
- Consider a walk to town for a little change of scenery.
